How do I use completion reports?
What are Completion Reports?
Completion Reports provide a real-time view of assessment participation. They show who has started, is in progress, or has completed an assessment during an open testing window.
While Performance Reports focus on scores after completion, Completion Reports focus on tracking participation and progress.
Who can see Completion Reports?
Access depends on your role:
- District administrators can view completion data across all schools
- School administrators can view completion data for their school
- Teachers can view completion data for their assigned classes and students
Where do I find Completion Reports?
Access depends on your role.
District and School Administrators
To view administrator-level Completion Reports:
- Click your name in the top right corner of Khan Academy.
- Select Admin Reports.
- Choose Assessments.
- Select the relevant assessment.
- Open the Completion tab.
This path gives you access to district-level or school-level completion tracking.
If you instead select the Assessments tab from the left-hand navigation, you will see the teacher-level completion view only.
Teachers
To view class level Completion reports:
- From teacher dashboard, click on the assessments tab.
- Find your class and assessment
- Select "View Reports"
- Select the Completion tab.
Which assessments include Completion Reports?
Completion Reports are available for all assessments, including:
- Algebra 1 and Geometry (Beta assessments)
- Grade 6–8 Math and Grades 9–12 ELA (Pilot assessments)
What information is included in Completion Reports?
Completion Reports allow you to:
- See whether students have started, are in progress, or have completed the assessment
- View average time spent at the district, school, class, or student level
- Identify rushing behavior that may need follow-up
Drill-down views
You can drill down by:
- School: View completion rates and participation across schools
- Class: View each class’s testing status

Student: View individual progress, time spent, and rushing indicators
When is the data updated?
Completion Reports show live data. Refresh the report to see the most up-to-date completion and engagement information.
How can I use Completion Reports?
Completion Reports help you:
- Monitor participation early in the testing window
- Identify schools or classes that may need follow-up
- Track progress in real time
- Reduce last-minute surprises before the window closes
