What's allowed and not allowed under Khan Academy's Terms of Service?
We want Khan Academy to be a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for everyone. This policy outlines behavior that is or isn’t allowed on our site, in accordance with our Website Terms of Service.
This article outlines Khan Academy’s Prohibited Conduct and comprises guidelines for use of our Service under our Website Terms of Service. It applies to all users. Any capitalized terms used and not defined in this Guideline have the meanings given to them in the Website Terms of Service.

2. Help keep the community respectful and safe
We’re a global community of learners. That means everyone (regardless of age, background, or identity) should feel supported here.
Do:

- Use learning tools (including AI features) with academic honesty
- Protect your own privacy and respect others’
- Report any issues you encounter through the Help Center
Don’t:
- Use Khan Academy to cheat or encourage academic dishonesty
- Impersonate others or mislead users
- Access someone else’s account without permission
- Collect or misuse personal data
- Use language or behavior that could be seen as offensive, harmful, or inappropriate, especially in the context of a community with many young learners
We will take action to protect our site and learners from any conduct that misleads, harms, or disrespects others.
3. Share content responsibly
When posting or creating content (including AI-generated content) remember this is a learning space for a general audience. Content that’s misleading, inappropriate, or harmful to others isn’t allowed.
Do:
- Share content that’s appropriate for an all-ages learning environment
- Take responsibility for how your content might affect others
- Make it clear when content was created using AI tools
Don’t share:
- Discriminatory, hateful, or violent content
- Content that harasses, bullies, or threatens anyone
- Pornographic or sexually explicit content
- Defamatory or privacy-invading messages
- Political or religious materials
- Misinformation, or anything that’s false, misleading, or harmful
Content should support learning—not distract or harm.
4. Respect copyright and ownership
Khan Academy’s lessons, tools, and exercises are developed by educators and designers to support learners around the world. Please use them responsibly.
Do:
- Use our resources for learning and teaching
- Keep any credit or attribution notices intact when sharing Khan Academy content
Don’t:
- Sell, sublicense, or commercially distribute our materials (unless permitted in our Terms of Service)
- Modify our content or create derivative works unless explicitly allowed
- Use scraping tools, bots, or other tech to copy or extract data from our site
- Use Khan Academy content or data to train, test, or develop AI models or machine learning tools
Using our content fairly helps keep Khan Academy free and available to all.
5. Help protect our platform
