Update: The Essay Assignments Library is here to save you time!

Hi everyone! Alex from the Community Support team here. We’ve just added a new way to help you bring thoughtful, skill-building writing assignments to your students with less prep time.

We know how much thought and energy goes into crafting strong writing prompts. To help lighten the load, we’ve added an Essay Assignments Library to Writing Coach.

This library includes 80+ pre-written, high-quality essay prompts for English Language Arts and Social Studies. Each one is fully editable and easy to assign, so you can spend less time setting up and more time supporting your students.

Here’s what you can do:

• Browse prompts by grade level, domain, and essay type

• Search by keyword (e.g., “Shakespeare,” “compare/contrast,” or “Industrial Revolution”)

• Click Edit & assign to customize the prompt and assign it directly to your class

Whether you're prepping for test season, assigning your next unit essay, or looking for inspiration, the Essay Assignments Library can help get you started faster.

To explore the library, head to the Writing Coach tool and select Explore and assign from the left-hand menu.
