Updates to 6th Grade reading and vocab

As part of ongoing improvements to the 6th grade reading and vocab course, several updates have been made. The course will continue to be revised, with a full update scheduled for January 2026.

What’s been updated so far?

• Reading strategy articles have been added to all long passage practice units
• Replaced the literature passages in long-passage practice exercises with high-interest, frequently taught published texts
• 8 new exercises
• 7 new articles
• 1 new video

Will this affect student mastery?

Yes. The total number of skills in the course has increased, which may lower a student’s current mastery percentage. This is expected and nothing to worry about.

Reminder: A drop in mastery % does not mean students have lost progress. It just means there are more skills to work toward!
