How can I see the Unit Mastery Goals and learning targets set by my administrator?

Opdateret

Administrators in Khan Academy partner districts can set Unit Mastery Goals or district-wide learning targets for their teachers. These are designed to alleviate some of the manual work on teachers’ shoulders and ensure alignment with school-wide priorities. This article will cover where you can view them on your Teacher Dashboard and if they are editable.

Where can I see the Unit Mastery Goals and targets my administrator has set for me?

These can appear in two ways on your dashboard, depending on whether you’ve already assigned your own Unit Mastery Goals:

1. If you haven’t assigned Unit Mastery Goals in the same course as your admin:

  • UMGs from your admin will be automatically assigned to your students
  • You’ll see a popup on your class page that says “Classroom assignments are ready!” Click "Review assignments" to view the Unit Mastery Goals that have been assigned.
  • You can edit or remove these Unit Mastery Goals at any time from your Teacher Dashboard.
    • To do this: click the “Progress” section on your teacher dashboard, followed by the 3 dots next to the Unit Mastery Goal you would like to make changes to. Then, select the “Edit goal” or “Delete goal” option.

2. If you have already assigned Unit Mastery Goals in the same course as your admin:

  • Your admin’s goals will appear as recommendations, not auto-assignments.
  • You’ll see a blue banner on your class' Activity Overview page. Click "View recommendations" to review them. You can choose to accept or dismiss each recommendation.

  • If you accept the recommendations from your Admin and then change your mind later, you can edit or remove these goals at any time from your Teacher Dashboard.

Where can I see my district targets?

In addition to Unit Mastery Goals, administrators may set district learning targets. These are view-only for teachers and cannot be edited.

You can view your district targets on two places in your Teacher Dashboard:

  1. On the Mastery tab of the Activity Overview section
  1. On the Activity tab of the Activity Overview section

Types of targets your administrator might set:

  • Course Mastery targets (e.g., "Achieve 90% progress in Algebra 1")
  • Skills leveled up (e.g., "60% of students leveled up in at least 2 Math skills last week")
  • Skills leveled up to Proficient
  • Learning minutes (e.g., "60% of students spent at least 30 minutes in the last week")
  • Khanmigo usage (e.g., "60% of students used Khanmigo in the last week")

These goals are tracked to support progress and alignment, but only administrators can edit them.

We hope this article was helpful for you in understanding how to see the Unit Mastery Goals and targets your administrator has made for you. If you have further questions, feel free to reach out to your Khan Academy Districts Success Manager or submit a ticket to our support team.
