Creative Algebra 1 feedback: Amazing practice, would love to see the following additional videos
Hi Khan Academy! Algebra 1 is one of your best Math courses ever, both for the deep practice and the Creative Algebra interludes. Just writing to suggest adding those videos into Algebra 2, and to suggest Study Hall Algebra and AoPS free videos into Algebra 1.
Study Hall Algebra fits the Khan Academy vibe perfectly, with Dr. James Tanton's engaging presentation style and the focus on addressing common pain points. All it lacks is the practice you offer, even as the videos cover most of Algebra 1 on Khan Academy. So please embed these videos into the relevant Algebra units, just like the Creativity in Algebra ones. I assure it won't disturb the flow of the units, and there's no need to create exercises for these either. Just additional enrichment videos for helping students truly master concepts.
Study Hall is a partnership between Crash Course and Arizona State University. While Crash Course videos are pivotal in your World History Project courses, ASU Prep hosts Sal Khan's new Khan World School, which uses Khan Academy courses including Algebra 1. Study Hall too is committed to democratising access to high-quality education and providing rigorous course materials free of cost. This mission alignment hopefully encourages you to feature Study Hall Algebra into your Algebra 1 course.
AoPS videos are relevant to your courses because like Sal, Richard Rusczyk too focuses on building deep intuition and mastery for the underlying ideas at play, and applying them in a spirit of playful exploration across domains. The videos cover Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Counting and Probability. If not Algebra, I'd love to see the videos in Pre-Algebra and High School Statistics courses. Richard's humor and love for learning is infectious, and the videos all have the engaging, conversational, friendly tone that is the sine qua non of Khan Academy videos. So please feature AoPS videos in your Math courses!
