Backgrounds with the Extension

Hi there!

You might have noticed that various parts of our platform have been getting a design update mainly over the last year. That’s to better align with the site’s current modern visual language— and just like the Khan Academy visual language evolved, so have our avatars! Because of this, in April 2021, we added 32 new avatars as possible choices for our users’ profiles composed of 8 different characters, each with 4 styles.

In addition, to make these avatars more engaging, our design team simplified the profile background to provide a more enjoyable and streamlined experience.
