I failed college algebra. Do you have any suggestions on where I should start to familiarize myself better for the next class? Should I go back to High School Algebra or begin again at Algebra 1? I haven't touched Algebra for almost a decade, and it is my worst subject. I am an A-B student in my other courses. I always had a problem with math in school. I want to work now to help me prepare for the next attempt. I got 100% on my work, but I was too slow to work through the problems on time, and I only finished half of the work.

Hi Michael,

If you find yourself struggling with speed or advanced skills in Algebra I, then I suggest taking a step back to the Pre-Algebra course in order to help strengthen your general math skills and fix gaps in your learning. I recommend starting with the Course Challenge to quickly identify which skills you're already proficient with so you can focus on the concepts that you struggle with the most.

Then, when you're ready, you can move on to the Algebra I course to take another look at the material and work on refining your skills.

If you don't have time to work through the entire Pre-Algebra course, then I suggest working through the Get Ready for Algebra I course, which will help quickly review all of the core concepts that you will need to be successful in the Algebra I course.
