Khan Academy CS project Copyright

I know someone else on Khan Academy got their program hidden because they based their graphic off an image they found on the internet.
But then again, almost every graphic on Khan Academy is based on some image they found on the internet.

I don't get to decide if it's allowed, but if I did I would say you should be allowed to recreate images as long as you give credit to the original you are basing yours off of.

If the image is publicly available for personal use without a license required, then yes, you can recreate the image as long as you include appropriate attribution (a link to the original source).

If the image requires a license for personal use, which is likely the case if it is watermarked or is required to be purchased, then you should not recreate it. Recreating images that are not available under Creative Commons or in the public domain is likely to be considered copyright infringement and will lead to your program being removed.
