I am getting a 7th grader to my school next week.
Usually, we ask all our learners to start from K to see that they do not have gaps from previous schools. In this specific cafe, since he is already a 7th grader, I thought of having him do the course challenges starting from 2nd grade and going up.
How many times does he have to take the course challenge in order for me to see he masters the specific level? I am guessing one time is not enough right?

Thank you for reaching out and for your enthusiasm for the platform! As the mastery system is designed to gauge the student's level, once the student reaches the "mastery" level over a subject, this should be enough. Nonetheless, please take your time to test how do the platform and the mastery system best fit your student's needs.

Hi Michael,
You have a couple of alternatives. You could ask him to do the course masteries, but you can't assign them and they're hit or miss for skills. Alternatively, you CAN assign the unit tests, and they should be testing most or all of the skills. If a student tests and gets a problem right without having done the exercise, the skill is marked as either proficient or mastered. He shouldn't need to do each unit test more than thrice, provided that he knows the material completely.
