Sometimes, when I answer people's questions, I would leave links to sights I found helpful (ex. w3schools, Mozilla Developer, ect). I also sometimes leave really long comments, such as when I leave snippets of code to help people. I have discovered that these posts, and several other posts that I have made were autohidden through KA's AI.

While I understand that this autohide algorithm may be necessary to keep Khan Academy as a safe learning environment and prevent spam, I was wondering if a feature could be made so that I know if a comment was hidden by the AI. That way, I can edit the post, or perhaps repost an edited version, and the people I was replying to could see them.

Needlessly said, it is frustrating when I get a comment from someone asking if I am going to reply to their question in which I answered several weeks ago with a post which was automatically hidden.

Thanks for the feedback! I've forwarded this request to the team for further consideration as we continue to improve our platform.

I know that when the discussions area was redesigned a couple years ago this idea was considered, but it was ultimately decided to not add an indicator showing that a post had been auto-hidden. The reason being for this is that we don't want spammers knowing that their posts are being auto-hidden, as this would only prompt them to try and circumvent the AI filter.

One thing to note is that all posts with external links are auto-hidden, so anytime you include a link to another website, your post will not be visible to others until it has been approved by a moderator. The best option here is to avoid using external links unless absolutely necessary.

This doesn't work 100% of the time, but there are sometimes a few indicators that your post may have been auto-hidden. If your post is excessively short or long, a message indicating this may be displayed above the text editor. The site will still let you make the post without changing anything, but chances are if you saw the warning message, your post will be auto-hidden if you don't change anything. Additionally, if you have to click the "Ask Question", "Comment", etc. button twice in order to make the post, this can sometimes indicate that the post was auto-hidden.
