One of my students had 2 ideas earlier, but due to age and shyness, can’t/won’t post them. Her first idea is that a student should not be able to see which questions are right or wrong on a quiz or unit test until it’s over. She said that it’s frustrating when she gets the first one wrong and she has to psych herself back up to continue. The other idea she had was to allow a student to start a test over if they messed up the first or second question on a set of 10+. I raised the issues surrounding students who memorize specific answers to just repeat them without truly understanding. As a fourth grader (because kids are brilliant and see things that adults kids!), she immediately jumped to KA telling the parent/teacher that a student restarted a quiz or test AND giving a completely new problem set AND only allowing one restart without finishing the while thing. Out of the mouths of babes. As a teacher, I would go along with either option.
