Content Update: New High school physics course, expanded science AP/College courses, and more!

Does this take the place of a post individually listing new videos, exercises, and articles added to what are now called Physics Library, Chemistry Library, and Biology Library?

In particular, my iPad app shows the following early video in Chemistry Library as unwatched by me:

Chemistry library -> Atoms, compounds, and ions -> Introduction to the atom -> The mole and Avogadro's number

Plus there's a whole new unit, More about atoms, which contains two playlists, each with just one module that has the same name as the playlist:

Moles and molar mass -> Moles and molar mass - This module is an exercise. Yet, there are now videos and articles in this unit and playlist to form the instruction for this exercise! If this information comes from the previous unit, why not put this exercise there?

Isotopes -> Isotopes - At least this one is a video.

I've actually been studying the Chemistry course for several months, although I put it aside for over a month to hurriedly get the retired content out of the way. Now I will have to go back through it to see if there's anything else I need to get done.

I spent much of 2019 studying the Physics course, including parts of the AP courses that were different from the Physics course. When I'm done with Chemistry, I'll go back and catch up with anything else that was added. It would be great if you could individually list any new Physics and Chemistry videos, articles, exercises, and sketchpads (that type that's not available for the apps) here in the Support Community -> News and Updates from Khan Academy section!

Thanks for your comment! You're absolutely correct that the library courses are arranged for browsing, not for completing from beginning to end.

If you're looking to study chemistry, we'd recommend either the AP/College Chemistry or AP/College Chemistry Beta, or even the Organic Chemistry course, depending on your interest. The videos, articles, and exercises in the Chemistry library are all from those courses.

The same applies for Physics! There is no brand-new content in the Physics library. You can browse physics content there, or try the AP/College Physics 1, AP/College Physics 2, or High school physics course.

I have been unable to find a High School Chemistry course even though you offer biology and physics high school courses. Is it possible to access the chemistry course without using the Chemistry library?

Unfortunately, we don't have a full High School Chemistry course right now. You might be interesting in our AP Chemistry or AP Chemistry beta course. Or, feel free to browse the Chemistry library by topic!

Will Khan Academy add a HS Chemistry course in the future?

I am am teacher and I use Kahn

. I am curious when I go into one of my class settings page the Physics library and Chemistry library no longer available to choose under the Change Course options listings.  I can choose High School Physics, but my classes from last year were using the Physics library option and I would like to use that again.  Also there is not option for Chemistry now except the AP and AP beta.  Why not let use use the Chemistry library any longer in our courses.  I can still access the Chemistry library outside my course by navigating to it directly...

Thanks for your feedback. You are correct that if you would like your students to access any of the material in the Chemistry library or Physics library, you can navigate directly to it. That won't change! We're working hard to add additional content and courses as soon as possible.

The Librarys (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) need to be made available in the Teacher Dashboard Assign Content pull down menu again. They used to be there and I was halfway into some of those librarys when they were made unavailable. Navigating to the Domain Page and assigning courses from there does not allow you to assign multiple at one time and makes it much more difficult to track. It takes me a good part of the day just to assign content from that page whereas it took mere seconds before.

Much of the content in the the libraries is also available in our High school or AP level biology and chemistry courses, so you may find it easier to assign from there. We'll keep this issue in mind as we make updates moving forward.

desiree Did you read the post by Marc Worthley carefully? He is already in the midst of using the "Library" courses and does not want to move over to another one.

I am an adult learner, and I was also midway through what used to be called just "Chemistry" but is now called "Chemistry Library". It is SO much easier to continue with what I have been using.

So, I implore you, please tell the powers that be that the "Library" courses must be made easier to use by the teachers, who are far more important users here than I am. Don't just "keep this issue in mind as [you] make updates moving forward." Please do it now. Or as my mother would say, "immediately, if not sooner."

I believe Chemistry Library and 'Chemistry' are the exact same thing. No changes have been made, so there shouldn't be a problem with progressing through it.

To clarify, the Chemistry library contains all the content from the previously existing Chemistry course, plus new material as we create it. That material will continue to be available for anyone who'd like to keep using it. 

We really do appreciate all feedback, and take it seriously. And, because we know change can be disruptive, we carefully consider all options before we take action, which means we can't always act immediately. We're currently in the process of making plans for even more improvements and new content, and would love to hear any other thoughts you have.

The problem is the Library's are not a selectable subject to assign content from. Right now we have to go through multiple subjects to find the content we are looking for. If the overall library was selectable, we could just use that for a one stop shop. It is nice to have the other specific subjects for those classes, but when you are looking for various content, the library is much easier to work from. 

Will you add full lessons on AP Physics C: Mechanics?

I'm looking for advice. I want to study physics but don't know which should I pick high school physics or physics library. I'm a 9th grade student and starting khan academy. Which do you recommend?

It's great to hear you're interested in physics! If you have a specific topic in mind, you can search the physics library for that. But, if you're looking to learn about lots of physics topics, I'd suggest you start with the high school physics course. That course will show you topics in an order we'd recommend, and you can try out the quizzes, tests, and course challenge.

Hello! I just have a question for the tests in the courses. I don't understand why I am getting an 80/100 on my tests even though I got all the answers correct. Is it some type of error or did I get a minus because of the time or something?
