Auto-centering / auto-scrolling
I am doing various quiz exercises on the Khan website, many of which utilize form entry.
I have noticed that, either with the js or the css that the Khan designers are using, there is an automatic forced re-centering of the screen whenever i place my cursor in a textbox. This can sometimes make it difficult to see the question i am attempting to answer. This behavior is easier to notice if you have your screen zoomed in.
For example, suppose i have my Chrome Browser zoomed to 125%. If i am taking one of the quizzes or knowledge checks in the 'Matrix equations: scalar multiplication' practice within the Precalculus Matrices unit, the screen provides a large pop-out in which the questions appear. Underneath each question are text boxes for me to fill out in order to demonstrate my answer. Once i click the textbox or tab to it to place my cursor there, the screen automatically force-scrolls to place the text box at top view of the pop-out. This is annoying because i then can't see the question i am trying to answer. Even if i manually scroll back to look at the question, as soon as i go back to answer, the screen re-scrolls again and the question is once again out of view.
This problem does not seem quite as prevalent when i opt to click the 'Go to lesson page' link. In other words, the problem only occurs when i'm filling out answers in the pop-out, rather than on the lesson page itself.
If i had my preference, the designers would eliminate this automated scrolling feature.
Thanks,
Raphael
