A Gift of Time - DGPE December Project 2019
We'd like to highlight the generosity of some of the Khan Academy students during the holiday.
Project evaluation on Khan Academy is a community effort, and it's an effort that is unequally shared. Many students don't repay the favor. Some, however, repay it many times over!
Between December 26th, 2019 - January 5th, 2020 inclusive, the evaluation queue on Khan Academy saw a 31.3% reduction. If that does not sound like much, let's translate it into evaluations given: at least 5074 projects - since new projects are added to the queue each day. We don't know who all the contributors were. Some evaluated just one or two, while others gave feedback on hundreds. As long as you gave any student an evaluation: Thank you!
We do, however, know the nicknames of a small group of students who came together to help us evaluate a fantastic 2223 of those projects, while learning more about Javascript and evalutions through workshops and personal feedback:
- AD Baker (peer instructor)
- Allison (peer instructor)
- An0n3m0us
- Christelle Winter (peer instructor)
- Element118
- Jonathan Bagwell (peer instructor)
- Lone Ninja (Ryan) (peer instructor)
- Mbonka
- Magic the Gavining
- pinkpuppy22
- William Wang (King)
In addition to delivering evaluations, the peer instructors guided the ordinary DGPE (Doing Great Project Evaluations) students, helped identify faulty evaluations by non-project members and reported inappropriate projects or evaluations.
To the DGPE students of December 2019: You have far surpassed the expectations. No group before you have managed to deliver nearly as many correct evaluations per person, per day.
May you always take pride in your work!
