Are you using an iPad or an iPhone? I am an iPad user. I haven't taken any type of practice/exercise/test on the iPad in a few months. Has Khan totally removed the notepad (also known by users here as a scratchpad, sketchpad, or scribble area) from the iPad? I know that the Android phone doesn't have one (but don't know about the Android tablet). As far as the iPad goes, the one we have now is far inferior to one that Khan formerly had. But it was better than nothing. I hope the iPad still has one.
