Python Help Requests seemingly unavailable

The team has been informed about this problem with the Help Requests on Python projects. 

We are a small team here at Khan Academy, so I do not have a firm timeline yet of when it will be resolved, but be sure that we're working on it.

After you have figured out what is happening, I am very curious as to whether I am correct that it has been broken for all users for 10 months, and whether no-one reported the problem for 9 months (or whether the report went into a stack that is too big to get thru quickly).

Apparently the problem has been fixed for the past 5 days or so, as there are now a few Help Requests in the queue, starting 5 days ago.  I checked, and it is resolved for me as well.
I am grateful to whomever fixed it.

Do you have a procedure for letting people know when an issue is resolved?  Is there something I could do differently next time I so that I get an update when the issue I report is resolved?

Apologies for the delay here, I meant to follow up on this much sooner but I happened to be gone when this issue occurred.

In regards to your questions:

Based on the Help Request activity, I'm guessing this was in fact broken for quite some time. Until you posted and I escalated the issue, I had not seen any previous reports about this being broken. That's not too surprising though---the Python course is still new and was not very visible for a while, and the Help Requests on the Python projects aren't super visible either.

Regarding notifications for resolved issues, it kind of depends on the issue and how it was reported to us.

• If it's a major outage or connectivity issue, then updates will be posted on the status page.
• If it's a high-impact issue reported via a ticket, then you may receive updates there (and via email).
• If the issue is reported via a community post, then I try to provide updates to the various posts as needed. Feel free to @-mention me in any of your posts to make sure it ends up on my radar!
