what does it take to be a community moderator?

I've always wanted to be a moderator of some sort, and I've recently been seeing many flaggable things such as meaningless help requests, inappropriate content, and plagiarized content (not spinoffs), and want to take them down, but have to wait for the other mods to. now, i don't know how the hours working or the pay works, but i don't really care if i get paid or have to do certain hours as I like moderating for a passion. I would be beyond exited if i even only had the permissions to take down projects without a flag (and maybe a mod badge :] ). I'm not asking to be a moderator, i just want to know if i fit the requirements to be one.
