We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new 6th, 9th, and 10th grade Reading and Vocabulary courses! Khan Academy is your go-to resource for mastering English language arts.

6th grade reading & vocab

Our new 6th Grade Reading & Vocab course includes:

• 171 new texts across 38 exercises to enhance your reading skills
• Practice exercises for both single-skills and integrated reading skills
• 36 engaging vocabulary videos to build word knowledge and make learning fun
• 15 reading strategy videos that are both fun and educational to help you become a strategic reader
• 12 easy-to-understand articles to help you learn critical reading skills
• 3 vocabulary exercises to help you master essential academic words

Dive into topics that interest you through our new themed units! Learn about text evidence while studying the Samurai’s code, explore context clues through the history of secret identities in superhero comics, and analyze arguments while learning about the world’s first working submarine.

This course aligns with the curriculum taught in thousands of schools across the United States and has replaced our older 6th Grade Reading & Vocab course.

We aim to provide you with clear, Common Core-aligned ELA instruction, combining direct instruction with practice exercises to ensure your students master essential reading skills.

9th and 10th grade reading & vocab courses

We've also introduced new courses for the 9th and 10th grades!

We'll be adding more content to these two courses this summer, but here’s a quick overview of what you can expect:

Over the next few weeks into the fall, we’ll continue adding new content including:
