Content update: Brand new high school physics and biology courses are here!

The Khan Academy science team has been hard at work creating new, high-quality high school physics and biology courses aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Along with our recently released high school chemistry course, these new courses make Khan Academy your one-stop destination for engaging and rigorous science educational content.

What you will see in our new courses

We believe that science learning should be holistic, accessible, and based in real-world contexts. This is why we’ve created courses that are:

• Comprehensive: Our high school science courses offer a comprehensive approach, ensuring a deep understanding of the material, and setting the stage for academic success.

• Phenomenon-based: Our new courses include many new phenomena (real-world contexts) for learners to engage with. From rockets, to symbioses, to the behavior of water on the International Space Station, we think you’ll have a blast exploring the world through our content.

• Accessible: Whether you plan to go on to college-level science courses or not, our courses are made for everyone to learn from and enjoy.

• Rich in educational resources: Our new courses are packed with brand new videos that are informative and engaging, easy-to-digest articles, and interactive practice questions designed to reinforce learning and ensure mastery of concepts.

• Useful for learning the foundations and applications of science: Understanding and applying scientific knowledge are two sides of the same coin. That's why we have two types of exercises: Understand and Apply. Understand exercises help build a strong foundation—they allow you to master key terms and concepts, and ensure you have the building blocks in place. With Apply exercises, you get to use your foundational knowledge in real-world contexts that often involve data analysis, interpreting models, or calculations.

• Hands-on: In our high school physics course, you’ll be able to dive deeper into science with our new hands-on activities, which can be tried by anyone, anywhere.
