Do not understand algebra
I am feeling like I am out of options.
I am taking college algebra for the second time and I still have zero idea what I am doing. I have tried many things including:
- Study groups
- Private Tutors
- Academic Success Center at campus
- Math lab at campus (countless hours)
- Youtube
....the list goes on.
I love Khan Academy. I am a science major and love learning so much; however, I cannot seem to get a grip on algebra. I do not understand the concepts, the rules, or solving the equations. I feel like it shouldn't be this hard! If I can learn biochemistry, finding molarity, or balancing chemical equations, I feel like I should be able to learn this, but I cannot. It's like a language that has zero organization in my head. There's no "flow", no consistency, no correlation or causation relationships, no patterns, no nothing. It's just an absolute mess and I am failing the class--again -____-
I am just looking for any suggestions from people who see this subject in the same light (like it's just a mess of numbers and letters with zero logic), and what sources you used that truly helped you understand and grasp it. I feel like I've tried everything and I am getting desperate. Thank you.
